Description: Several postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Becky Dutch at the University of Kentucky. The Dutch group focuses on molecular details of paramyxovirus and pneumovirus infection, including work on entry, replication, assembly and spread. We utilize a wide variety of approaches to elucidate critical processes in viral infection, including techniques in molecular biology, cell biology and biophysics.
Skills: A strong background in molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry is essential, as are skills in scientific communication. Applicants who are self-motivated, work well in a team, have previous microscopy experience and/or previous experience in virology are highly preferred.
The position is in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky. The department ranks in the top ten in NIH funding for public medical schools.
